Is your Google Business listing suffering from these problems?
- Not featuring in the top 3 map results
- Low profile engagement
- Duplicate profile issues
- Lack of content and visuals
With Google Business, you can make your restaurant stand out from your competitors and drive interest into your brand.
With so many online searches having local intent, and searchers using Google Business to find contact details, you want to show up in Google Maps to increase bookings and sales.
How Google Business works
Increasing your visibility on Google as a local restaurant has never been more important for sustained growth. If you’re a business serving local customers (or any business in fact) and you’re not listed you are missing out on opportunities.
Your profile appears in the top right-hand side of Google results which is a prominent listing. It’s a listing that most certainly stands out to users when displayed.
It’s also a quicker way for potential customers to find your location, information about your restaurant, read your reviews, see your latest offers and more importantly ‘book a table’.
Without a Google Business listing you will not appear on Google Maps. Google Maps is intended to help those looking for directions.

Google Business Profile Top Tips
- Ensure your profile is complete and when I say complete I mean every section. Pay particular attention to your bio and use all characters (don’t forget your keywords – these should be researched)
- Add photos and videos to your profile and include your menu, dishes, customers dining and news
- Does your profile information match your other listings around the web – opening hours, contact info, address details etc… it’s important they all match
- Keep your profile up to date with any new information about your restaurant
- Encourage, manage and respond to reviews – high-quality, positive reviews from your customers can improve your local visibility
- Don’t forget to regularly post news. Yes, you can post onto your Google Business account just like you would on your social media channels and they feature in Google results

Google Reviews
Online reviews are one of the main methods of influence, even more so for restaurants, so you should be taking advantage of these on Google. Once your account is set up, you can send your customers a link so they can leave you a review. Reviews are also a key Google ranking factor, so another reason why you can’t afford to dismiss this opportunity.
Whilst Google reviews are an important tool you should also be monitoring your Trip Advisor, Facebook and online ordering platform reviews.
